Great Britain 1840 Mulready — A42 from Great Russell St. to Liverpool, cancelled in black and with light "T.P./Gt. Russell St." h.s. in red at upper right, sealed with three Anti-Corn law labels (two around edges and split on opening), two inscribed "Send 1s. to J. Gadsby, Manchester for Anti Corn-Law Wafers, & put them on your letters" and one inscribed "Who passed the Corn Law? The land-lords. - For what purpose? To keep up their high rents", datestamps for 3 and 4 May 1841 on reverse. Rare and very unusual usage on a Mulready. Also 1819 (9 July) entire from Kinross to Edinburgh with manuscript "Pd 5", the first day of the new rate. Photo Estimate £ 600-700
