Great Britain 1791 Pewter Treasury ink stand (265x185mm), with two centrally hinged flaps, one with "(Crown)/G.III" control stamp and the other engraved to the underside "mail coach office/york/1791" concealing a fitted interior with ink well and pounce pot, the other with void interior, some minor solder repairs.
