Sudan The Second Suakin Expedition, 1885-86 1885 (Jan.) and (Feb.) soldier´s envelopes "From Serg. F.W. Hamblin 2Bn Duke of Cornl Lt Infy", to Miss Fox in London, both marked "On active service - No stamps available" or similar and signed by the Commanding Officer, the first with Dongola c.d.s. on face and the second with two overlapping Korti c.d.s. on reverse, both with boxed "t" h.s. and charged "1d" tax on arrival; six further 1885-86 letters ex the same correspondence from Hamblin whilst in Cairo and a final letter sent from Devonport in 1887; all with some faults though an interesting and unusual group Estimate £ 300-400
