x Queensland Moreton Bay District Brisbane 1845 (23 Apr.) entire letter from Canning Down to Edinburgh, marked "Inland Postage Paid", rated "7" and "8", showing clear "paid ship letter/sydney" datestamp (26.5) in red and, on reverse across join, a legible strike of "brisbane/new s. wales" oval d.s., rectangular "liverpool/ship" d.s. (22.10; crossed by tear) and arrival c.d.s. (24.10). A very early usage and rare. Photo Estimate £ 1,500-2,000 Note: This is the second earliest cover originating from the Moreton Bay district and usage of the Brisbane datestamp.
