India 1854 Issue Covers 1856 (22 Feb.) entire letter from Calcutta "per Bentinck Via Marseilles" to France bearing, on reverse, 4a. 5th. Printing pale blue and red horizontal pair, [1-2], with good to large margins on three sides, touched at left, each lightly cancelled "B/1", the reverse showing various transit c.d.s. and the face panel with boxed "india paid" h.s. and light French entry c.d.s.; the left-hand stamp with some surface rubbing. otherwise sound and exhibits well.
