Regt.), Regimentally impressed in large serif capitals; Turkish Crimea, Sardinian die, edge engraved ´2049...´, plugged with contemporary Crimea-style swivel suspension, heavy contact marks, naming partially obscured, fine (2) Estimate £ 180-220 2049 Colour Sergeant George Thatcher, enlisted in the 4th King´´s Own Royal Regiment, July 1843; served with the Regiment in the Crimea and severely wounded during the first attack on the Redan, 18.6.1855; discharged, December 1864, after 21 years with the colours.
