Purnell, 32nd Foot, Who Received a Gunshot Wound at Waterloo, 18.6.1815 Military General Service 1793-1814, seven clasps, Roleia, Vimiera, Corunna, Salamanca, Pyrenees, Nive, Orthes (William Parnell, 32nd. Foot); Waterloo 1815 (William Purnell [sic]. 32nd Regiment Foot.), with original steel clip and split ring suspension, contact marks, minor edge bruising, therefore nearly very fine (2) Estimate £ 5,000-5,500 Private William Purnell, a native of Trowbridge, Wiltshire, served during the Waterloo Campaign in Captain David Davies Company, 32nd Foot, and suffered a ´´gunshot wound of left leg received in action on the 18th day of June 1815 at Waterloo.´´ (Service Papers refer).
