Hull Corps. 1912), good very fine (5) Estimate £ 100-120 Officer, Order of St. John London Gazette 24.6.1930 William Thomas Atkinson Mr. William Thomas Atkinson (1871-1958), joined Hull Central Division, St. John Ambulance Brigade, March 1897; Appointed Superintendent of the Division, 1907; Corps Secretary, Hull Corps, 1909; District Officer, No. 6 District (Northumberland, Durham, North and East Ridings of Yorkshire), 1914; Appointed Serving Brother of the Order of St. John, May 1914; served during the Great War in charge of the First Aid Posts in Hull dealing with Air Raid casualties; Promoted Officer of the Order of St. John, May 1930; Appointed County Commissioner, East Riding of Yorkshire, 1932; retired 1938. Mr. Atkinson took part in public duty in London on the occasion of the Royal Progress of Their Majesties in 1902, and at the Coronation of King George V in 1911. He was on parade at the Royal Review in Windsor Great Park in 1912, and at the Centenary Review in Hyde Park in 1931, and on both occasions led a contingent.
