Hopkins, A.S.Corps), extremely fine Estimate £ 70-90 691 Second Class Staff Sergeant Henry Morris Hopkins, born Gloucester, 1839; enlisted Private, Military Train, April 1858; promoted Collarmaker Corporal, April 1864; transferred to Army Service Corps as Saddler Corporal, February 1870; Third Class Staff Sergeant, March 1870; Second Class Staff Sergeant, November 1877; served for one year and one month in South Africa, and wounded (fractured collar bone) following a fall from a horse whilst on duty at Pietermaritzburg, Natal; discharged June 1880 after 22 years and 56 days with the Colours.
