Great Britain Line Engraved 1840 One Penny Black Plate XI FJ, close to very large, if rather ragged, margins all round and showing portion of adjoining stamp at foot, tied to lower-right (contrary to regulations) of slightly refolded cover to Netherbury dated April 1840 by Beaminster boxed "No. 1" receiving House postmark. Believed to be the only use of the Beaminster receiving handstamp of a Plate XI penny black. B.P.A. certificate (1989) stating ."... stamp and cover creased". Photo Estimate £ 3,000-3,500
