India Early Letters and Handstamps The Overland Route 1836 (1 Jan.) entire letter from London to Bombay c/o Waghorn´s Agency in Alexandria, rated "3/2" and showing a fine strike of the "care of mr waghorn/alexandria" h.s.; the letter very toned and with some ink etching to the addressee, etc. though believed to be the earliest example of this handstamp. Also a further entire letter from the same correspondence without postal markings and an 1829 letter signed by Waghorn to the Under Secretary Affairs of India including "I leave this evening for India by the Red Sea" Estimate £ 200-250
