x Hong Kong Japanese Occupation Prisoners of War Camp ´N´, Argyle Street (British Officers) 1943, type 1 envelope from D.A.P. Mathers to London with Niimori censor chop, "examiner 2972" seal at left, two redirection address labels and Wareham arrival c.d.s. (17.1), the reverse with "home postal centre/a.p.o." c.d.s. in bright violet, London slogan cancellation and "The original address on this letter/was incorrect or incomplete./Please inform your correspondent of/your correct Postal Address./War Office A.g.17c." handstamp in red. An unusual and delightful cover. Photo Estimate £ 300-400 This camp had been built to house Chinese nationalist troops who had sought refuge in Hong Kong from the Japanese. It was situated next door to the Kowloon hospital. In April 1942 it became th home of some 500 officers with a few batman. It was about 300 yards away from the Indian Camp of Ma Tau Chung
