Bermuda 1865-1903 Watermark Crown CC covers: 1865 (26 Oct.) double rate envelope addressed to Colonel Hanley, the Lieutenant Governor of Bermuda in St. Georges, bearing 1d. rose-red vertical pair placed sideways and tied by clear "2" horizontal oval of bars and showing fine "bermuda/h/paid" c.d.s. in black (earliest recorded date of use); both 1d. with small faults and the envelope with part of flap missing.
