x Saudi Arabia 1925-28, a wonderful selection contained in stockbook, on leaves and loose, as sold (and signed) by the famous stamp dealer Albert Eid of Cairo, including Nejdi Occupation of Hejaz 1925 "nejd sultanate post 1343" overprints on stamps of Turkey, the set in singles and blocks of four, Railway Tax set of four in singles and blocks of four, Postage Due set of six with black handstamps in singles and blocks of four, very rare cancelled set of six with black handstamps, 1925 Postage Due 1/2p. and 3p. singles and blocks of four, 1925 Newspaper 1/8pi. with violet "matbua" handstamp in violet cancelled, 1925 Pilgrimage Commemoration set and set in very rare blocks of four (only 800 sets printed), 5pi. on 1pi., 2pi. on 1pi., 3pi. Railway Tax used on cover Registered from Djedda, 1925 "nejd sultanate post" overprints with stamps of 1922-24 1/2pi. two blocks of four with black overprint inverted, three imperforate singles (two with overprint inverted), 1pi., 3pi. and 5pi. on unsurfaced buff paper, also a block of four of the 5pi. (which is probably the largest recorded multiple of this value), Postage Due set of six in blocks of four, 1922 Postage Due 1pi. blue (three blocks of four including English and Arabic Controls), 1925 surcharges including 1927 (Jan.) cover Registered from Djeddah to Cairo with an astonishing franking of 1pi. on 1/2pi. (12 examples), all with entire surcharge inverted, 1925 Capture of Medina set, 1925 Capture of Jeddah set in singles and rare blocks of four (only 1,800 sets printed), Hejaz and Nejd 1926 (Feb.) 1/4pi., 1/2pi. and 1pi. enlarged Proofs in brown, a variety of stamp size imperf. Proofs in a range of colours, 1926 changed colours set imperforate, perf. 14 and 14 x 11 varieties, 1926 (Feb.) Postage Dues with 1926 (April) cover from Cairo to Mecca posted unpaid and with 1/2pi. (2) and 2pi. and tied by Arabic Mecca datestamp, 1926 (Oct.) cover to Cairo bearing 2pi. and Postage 1/4pi. (4) as Postage, both issues with imperfs., part perfs., double impressions, 1926 Pan-Islamic Congress set in blocks of four; chiefly fine and a marvellous opportunity to obtain a Collection containing many extremely rare pieces of the period.
