Gee, Indian Medical Service Lieutenant-Colonel Frederick William Gee, C.I.E., (1863-1930), educated at Sherborne School and University College, London, where he read Medicine, and was the Fellowes Medallist in Clinical Medicine, 1884-85; Entered the Indian Medical Service, March 1888, and saw active service in the Relief of Chitral, 1895; on the North West Frontier with the Tochi Field Force, 1897; in the China Expeditionary Force, 1900; and in the Somaliland Expedition, 1902, where he was Mentioned in Despatches; Major, 31.3.1900; Lieutenant-Colonel, 31.3.1908; served throughout the Great War in Mesopotamia, as Assistant Director of Medical Services in Command of No. 9 Hospital in Basra, for which work he was Mentioned in Despatches, and was made C.I.E.; resigned his Commission due to ill-health, 5.8.1920.
