McLeod A & S Highrs); Coronation 1937; Territorial Efficiency Medal (2970677 Pte. J. McLeod. 8-A.&S.H.); Efficiency Medal, G.V.R., ´Territorial scroll´ suspension (2970677 Cpl. J. McLeod. 8-A.&S.H.), contact marks, nearly very fine, with photographic images of recipient in uniform wearing his medals, and a letter from Brigadier Lorne Campbell V.C. discussing recipient´s character, dated 20.5.1980 (lot) Estimate £ 200-240 Drum-Major John McLeod served during the Great War with the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders in the French Theatre of War, from 1.5.1915; ´´The Jock Macleod I think of was Drum Major of the 8th Bn. He was a very accomplished tenor drummer and rose I think to Sergeant in that capacity..... he was one on the outstanding figures in the battalion, long-serving and loyal´´ (Letter from Brigadier Lorne Campbell, V.C., included in lot refers).
