R.N.), nearly extremely fine, mounted court style for display (4) Estimate £ 250-300 Lieutenant-Commander John Matthew Hasling (1856-1933), native of Brockley, London; joined the Royal Navy, 1871; Gunner 1885; served as part of the Naval force under Rear-Admiral Rawson, C.B., tasked with a series of actions against the Kenyan Coastal Arabs under Mbaruk, 1895; Chief Gunner 3.7.1904; commissioned Lieutenant 28.4.1910; served during the Great War at H.M.S. Indus, from 27.9.1914; retired Lieutenant-Commander 28.4.1918. Approximately 3 ´´Mwele 1895´´ medals awarded to H.M.S. Blonde.
