"Monarch".); Khedive´s Star 1882, unnamed as issued, suspension rod detached on one side of Star, good very fine (2) Estimate £ 200-220 John O´´Connor, born Southampton, August 1855; enlisted in the Royal Navy, January 1873, and served in H.M.S. Druid during the Ashantee Campaign; Able Seaman December 1876; served in H.M.S. Monarch January 1882- July 1883 during the Egyptian Campaign, and present at the Bombardment of Alexandria, 11.7.1882; Invalided out of the Royal Navy, April 1884. Former service erased and Ashantee Medal forfeited, April 1880.
