Fullarton, restrike pattern Shilling in white metal, bust of Adam Smith, rev. female mourning, shields, battleaxe and spears behind (DH.7), a little scuffed but extremely fine or better, lustrous, rare Estimate £ 120-150 PROVENANCE: Bought 1904 Identified as a pattern Shilling by Dykes (BNJ 2002, pp. 151). A die flaw on the reverse runs from the top of the coin through to the bottom of the device, indicating this is by W.J. Taylor, sometime after 1837 (cf. Dykes, BNJ 2002, pp. 158-9)
