Devon, Puddington, W. Waller, Halfpenny, 1797, bust to right, rev. three-masted ship (DH. Bedfordshire 5), struck on a defective flan, about very fine, seven other specimens of the completed obverse die variety traced Estimate £ 200-250 Research by Michael Dickinson, to be published this year, strongly suggests that the issuer of these tokens was originally from the Devon village, not Podington in north Bedfordshire
