Indian Mutiny 1857-58, no clasp (Capt T,A, Corbett. 61st Regt NI.), lacquer marks, nearly extremely fine Estimate £ 340-380 Lieutenant Colonel Toovey Archibald Corbett (1826-1918), born Walthamstow, Essex; served with the left wing 61st N.I. against insurgents in Bundecund 1843-44; Ensign 1845; Lieutenant 1845; served throughout the Mutiny in Bengal 1857, and in the Punjab and Central India 1858; attached to Saugor Field Force and several Flying Columns in the capacity of Assistant Commissioner during operations in Jaloun District, and on the Staff of the Brigadier commanding; Captain 1862; Major 1862; Lieutenant Colonel 1866. At the time of his death Lieutenant Colonel Corbett was one of the last surviving veterans of the Indian Mutiny.
