White, Serjeant Major, 23rd Light Dragoons.); Army Long Service & G.C., W.IV.R. with Hanoverian Arms, (James White, Troop Serj. Major 6th Dragoons. 183..), date partially obscured by official steel clip suspension, contact marks to reverse, edge bruising, very fine and better (2) Estimate £ 1,400-1,600 Sergeant Major James White, born Sarksley, Essex; enlisted in the 23rd Light Dragoons 1803; served in Portugal and Spain from June 1809-1810; served in Captain Cox´´s troop during the Waterloo Campaign 1815; discharged 1817; re-enlisted into 19th Lancers; transferred 6th Dragoons; Troop Sergeant Major 1825; discharged 1831 after 29 years and 23 days with the Colours; died 1849.
