C. of Lond Yeo), good very fine (3) Estimate £ 100-140 2999 Private William James Pitt, born Walthamstow; entered the Gallipoli Theatre of War 30.10.1915; served during the Great War with 1st, City of London Yeomanry (Rough Riders); whilst the unit was descending the Suez Canal and Sinai 1916, a number of men fell sick and were evacuated to hospital- Private Pitt was one of two men who died from this sickness, 4.6.1916, and is commemorated on Alexandria (Hadra) War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt.
