France, Kingdom, A 1832 Official Re-Introduction Bastille Medal, ´Crown Mural´ type, 29mm x 21mm, bronze, reverse impressed ´Recompse. Nle. Dee. A Mel. Boissiere Vainqr. de la Bastille 1790´, nearly very fine and rare France, Kingdom, Order of the Holy Ghost, A Reduced-Sized Knight´s breast Badge, 25mm, silver, part of wreath missing, good fine and rare (2) Estimate £ 100-120 The Bastille Medal was introduced in 1790 and presented to 954 Vanquishers of the Bastille. The reverse was impressed with the recipient´´s name, and was designed to be sewn onto the recipient´´s jacket. In August 1793 the decoration was banned, but in 1832 a medal based on the original design was re-introduced for those Vanquishers still living, and worn suspended from a riband.
