Peatling, 1/Northd Fus.), suspension slack; Queen´s South Africa 1899-1902, four clasps, Belmont, Modder River, Orange Free State, Transvaal (2541 Pte. W. Peatling, North´d: Fus:); King´s South Africa 1901-02, two clasps (2541 Corpl: W. Peatling, North´d Fus); Khedive´s Sudan 1896-1908, one clasp, Khartoum (2543 Bd. Mn. W. Peatling 5th Fusers), contact marks throughout, nearly very fine, mounted as originally worn (4) Estimate £ 380-420 2541 Corporal William Peatling, born Mile End, London; enlisted as a Bandsman in the Northumberland Fusiliers, 1889; served in the Sudan in 1898 and also during the re-occupation of Crete in the same year; during the latter conflict Surgeon W.J. Maillard was awarded the Victoria Cross; discharged 25.11.1910, after 21 years and 113 days service with the Colours. Corporal Peatling died in 1943.
