Three: Lieutenant-Colonel F.J. Raitt, Royal Marine Light Infantry Egypt 1882-89, dated, no clasp (Lieut: F.J. Raitt. R.M.L.I.), light pitting from Star; British War Medal (Lt. Col. F.J. Raitt. R.M.L.I.); Khedive´s Star 1882, therefore very fine, mounted as originally worn (3) with the following original documentation: - Commission appointing Francis Jolliffe Rait as Lieutenant, Royal Marine Light Infantry, dated 3.5.1880 Estimate £ 280-320 Lieutenant-Colonel Francis Joliffe Raitt served as Lieutenant in the Royal Marine Light Infantry during the Egyptian War 1882, and was present at the action at Mallaha Junction, and at Kassasin, 9th September; served as Acting Adjutant of the R.M.L.I. Battalion present in Egypt, 22nd July - 21st August; advanced Major 1897; retired and took up an appointment with the Recruiting Staff Office, 1.1.1906; re-engaged for active service for the Great War and was appointed General Staff Officer, 2nd Grade, War Office, 5.8.1914; appointed Temporary Lieutenant-Colonel Recruiting Service, York District, 25.8.1915.
