x Great Britain Line-Engraved Issues 1840 One Penny Black Plate 1a NL, a late impression showing plate wear, from right of the sheet with almost full selvedge and marginal inscription "Back be careful not", small to large margins on other sides, almost complete central strike of the red Maltese Cross (somewhat over-inked and a little oily on the reverse); crease in the selvedge clear of the design.
