British Guiana Covers and Cancellations Mail to the United Kingdom 1875 (18 Oct.) envelope from Georgetown "Per Private Steamer Douglas" to London, bearing 1866-71 perf. 10 4c. pale blue cancelled "A03" and 1875-76 perf. 15 2c. orange cancelled with a superb strike of the "1 1/2 A03" accountancy h.s. in red (T&H Fig. 5 with "2" below the "A03" line, Proud A4, the earliest recorded date of use) and showing "ship-letter/paid/london" c.d.s. (Robertson S.54) for 11 November at lower left corner, despatch and arrival d.s. on reverse; the envelope with crease and stain well clear of the accountancy h.s., nevertheless a rare and attractive combination of franking and cancellation.
