British Guiana Covers and Cancellations The Early Codemark Cancellations — "d r e/1" for 28 October 1878 on 1876 2c. orange and accompanied by "agricola" c.d.s. dated 16 December 1878 on 1876 2c. orange, the only known dated example recorded. Photo Estimate £ 120-150 Note: Townsend and Howe believed that "DRE/1" was issued to Agricola and "DRE" to Great Diamond and possibly transferred to Grove. The discovery of the 2c. value offered in the above lot cancelled with Agricola 1878 c.d.s. suggests that the reverse may in fact be the case
