Great Britain 1840 Mulready One Penny Envelopes A177, an example showing caricature ink manuscript additions to the printed design including: spectacles, top hats, feathers, a sword (put in the hand of an Ameriacn ´Indian´ greeting one of the ´Founding Fathers´) and one of the angels given a beak suggesting the appearance of an eagle (or even a vulture!), used to Sheffield cancelled by superb upright Maltese Cross in red, the right hand flap with corresponding "kimbolton/sp 15/1840" double-arc d.s. in the same colour.
