Sudan Postal Stationery Envelopes 1897 issue study, comprising 1m. brown unused (3, one with overprint Type A and watermark N, possibly an essay) an used (cancelled at Sawakin in blue), 2m. green unused (3, one with overprint Type A and watermark I, possibly an essay), 5m. carmine unused (18, one with overprint Type A and watermark N, possibly an essay) and used (33 from a variety of Offices, several uprated and one used as a soldier´s letter from a member of the 1st. Seaforth Highlanders) and 1p. blue unused (18, one with overprint Type A and watermark N, possibly an essay) and used (18 from various Offices, a few uprated or registered); also 1p. blue with "express." overprint unused (4) and a few forgeries.
