Additional Award Bars London Gazette 16.2.1951 Major Bernard Stanley Taylor, M.B.E., T.D., Territorial Army Major Bernard Stanley Taylor, M.B.E., T.D., born 1890; enlisted as 74601 Private, Royal Engineers; served during the Great War and Mentioned in Despatches; Commissioned Second Lieutenant, Royal Engineers, 1.9.1916; Lieutenant, 1.3.1918; advanced Major, Territorial Army, 1.4.1929; employed Royal Corps of Signals, 24.8.1939; Commanded the Second Corps Signals, and Fifth Anti-Aircraft Signals during the Second War; Appointed Postmaster, London S.W.; retired 1952, and emigrated to Cape Town, South Africa. Major Taylor died 17.10.1959. Major Taylor´s group incorrectly includes a G.V.R. Territorial Decoration, when the award conferred was the Efficiency Decoration; however, the top riband bar, and the Additional Award Bars are correct as for the Efficiency Decoration.
