Hewitt, 8th Hussars), light contact marks to obverse, otherwise good very fine Estimate £ 280-320 1082 Squadron Sergeant-Major Joseph Hewitt, enlisted 8th Hussars, 1849; Corporal 1851; served in the Crimea War, and was taken ill to Scutari, 15.9.1854, returning to his regiment, 10.11.1854 (entitled to Medal with ´Sebastopol´ clasp); Sergeant 1854; Provost Sergeant 1855; Troop Sergeant-Major 1858; discharged Squadron Sergeant-Major 1873.
