x CANADA The Large Queen Issue Six Cents Blackish Brown/Yellowish Brown Ottawa Printings, Perforated 12 Covers 1868 (26 Aug.) envelope from New York to Montreal, bearing 6c. blackish brown Plate 1, placed sideways and cancelled with New York cork duplex, showing manuscript "10" deleted, arrival c.d.s. (27.8) on reverse. A very rare example of Canadian stamps being accepted by the U.S. postal service in error, with only one other example recorded. Greene Foundation Certificate (1991).
