Uniform items of the Eton College Volunteer Rifle Corps A rare shako, in pale blue cloth, trimmed with three rows of silver lace, plain square black patent leather peak, a good white metal badge of EVRC in script with bugle-horn above, lining of pale leather (internal headband, chinstrap and plume missing); together with a large brown leather pouch with metal twin-compartment liner, the flap bearing a fine brass or bronze badge of identical style to that on the shako; a composite brown leather sword-belt with white metal fittings but brass snake clasp, complete with slings (one defective) and billets; and a Sam Browne belt with its brace (4)

Note: A photograph of the Duke of Albany as a drummer in the ECVRC in 1899 shows him wearing a waist-belt similar to the belt in this Lot, but presumably without sword-slings.
