Three: Private E.J. Taylor, South Wales Borderers 1914-15 Star (11841 Pte. E.J. Taylor. S. Wales Bord:); British War and Victory Medals (11841 Pte. E.J. Taylor. S. Wales Bord.), extremely fine, together with a photograph of the recipient´s mother, and one of the recipient as a small boy with his grandfather (3) Estimate £ 80-100 11841 Private Edward John Taylor, born 1887, emigrated to New Zealand prior to the War, but returned to enlist in the South Wales Borderers; served on the Western Front and was wounded, gassed, and shell-shocked; invalided home, he was subsequently discharged from the Army; died from the effects of his injuries 16.10.1918. He is buried in an unmarked grave in Cheltenham Borough Cemetery. As a civilian he was not given a Military Funeral, nor were his next-of-kin presented with a Bronze Memorial Plaque and Scroll, although had they requested one it is likely that they would have been granted.
