Sweden, Charles de Geer (1720-78), silver portrait medal by Gustav Ljunberger, 34.3mm., armoured bust right, signed GL below, rev. SIBIMET SUPERSTES, a butterfly (cf. Forrer III, 446-448), extremely fine Estimate £ 40-50 Baron Charles De Geer, Swedish industrialist and entomologist; his collections of insects were left to the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and now belong to the Swedish Museum of Natural History at Stockholm.
