St. Vincent Early Letters and Handstamps 1798-99 series of six entire letters ex the Fraser correspondence to and from the island, the first two from Inverness to "Diamond" rated "7", "1/2" (both deleted) and "2/8" with despatch c.d.s., the other four to Inverness, sent by Packet and variously rated, two showing straight-line "st. vincent" h.s. across join, one very light and partially overstruck by arrival d.s. and two with weak Port Glasgow Ship Letter h.s. An interesting group with one including "The seas are swarming with French privateers and it may be the very packets by which we write you that are taken...." Estimate £ 280-320
