India 1954 India Stamp Centenary De La Rue essay for a miniature sheet, comprising piece of card (140x81mm.) with handpainted replicas of the 1854 1/2a. and 1855 8a. with notations below each and headed "india postage-stamp centenary 1854-1954" below Arms of India; a charming and highly attractive piece of artwork which was apparently rejected as the Indian authorities wished this issue to be of a national character.
