Sudan The Campaign for the Recapture of Khartoum 1898 (8 Aug.) 5m. stationery envelope to England, marked "4167 Pte Percy Johnson R.W.R" and "Nile Expeditionary Force, Sudan", cancelled by "darmali/s.p.s." c.d.s. with another fine strike alongside and, on reverse, Wadi Halfa S.P.S. and Manchester datestamps; the envelope with the notation "This envelope was posted by a private in the Royal Warwickshire Regiment marching to attack Khartoum, Soudan 1898" and "Battle of Khartoum September 2 1898" across face panel.
