Great Britain Postal History England, Scotland & Wales 1853 (13 May) envelope bearing 1841 1d. (large margins) and showing very fine black "e/n.r" in circle (railway post office) and red framed "missent/to/worcester" adjacent; 1858 (2 Aug.) envelope bearing 1d. ´Stars´ and with very fine unframed "missent-to/worcester" in blue at left; 1852 1d. pink postal stationery envelope with very fine blue circular "missent to/birmingham" at left, the adhesives/impressed value neatly or lightly cancelled, all three items addressed to Sir Thomas Phillips at Broadway - Phillips was well known for his strident Protestant views and is recorded as having noted, with obvious distaste, that his local Post Office "employs a Papist Boy to deliver letters". A fine and extremely attractive trio which lays-out perfectly for an exhibition display page
