x Great Britain Surface-Printed Issues 1880-83 Watermark Imperial Crown 3d. on 3d. lilac, KI-TL block of forty from top of the sheet, unmounted mint; a few stamps with gum bends, TL with tiny natural paper inclusion. A unique and wonderfully fresh multiple - this is the largest possible block as the sheets were split into blocks of forty by the Post Office before distribution. The largest previously recorded multiple being a block of twelve from the J.O. Griffiths sale in 1981. S.G. 159, catalogues £18,000 as singles not including premium for blocks and unmounted mint.
