Great Britain Cancellations Maltese Cross - Coloured blue: 1841 1d. plate 21, just clear to enormous margins (small part selvedge at left), on neat clean entire to Horbling tied by very fine part strike of the Cross in blue with corresponding Louth despatch backstamp for 10 August 1842 in the same colour, the address panel with superb black Folkingham double-arc d.s. of 11 august at lower-left and ink manuscript "Carridge Paid" in the same hand as the address; light cover creasing clear of the adhesive. Fine and very attractive - the blue Cross used at Louth is very scarce, being only recorded in use for June 1841 and August 1842. R.P.S. Certificate (2004). Photo Estimate £ 400-500
