Hancock, Kuingchow, China" (a customs official who was also responsible for establishing the British Post Offices in China), bearing 1864-79 1d. plate 219 (2) and 1873-80 4d. sage-green plate 16, tied by fine light Lurgan "316" duplexes, the reverse with very fine light "singapore/to hong kong" c.d.s.; central tone patch caused by the red wax seal (missing) on reverse, otherwise fine and most appealing.
