x Great Britain Postal History Ireland 1863 (3 Mar.) entire to "Nassau, New Providence, West Indies", bearing 1862-64 6d. plate 3 tied by light "281" numeral, red handstruck "d1" charge mark at left, the reverse with Warrenpoint and Newry c.d.s´s.; minor cover imperfections in no way detracting. This letter was sent during the American Civil War and the blockade then operating against Confederate forces - a fact confirmed by the manuscript note inside which reads "I think Cecil is wrong in running the blockade, it is a dangerous trade".
