Italy 1917 (28 June) Naples to Palermo experimental flight by Franzoni, envelope addressed to Palermo from Rome bearing Air 25c. on 40c. with "posta aerea napoli-sicilia" and alongside "roma ferrovia" c.d.s., and 1934 (25 Jan.) Rome-Argentina, non-stop attempted flight by Lombardi and Mazatti, registered 30c stationery card, bearing 1934 3L. on 2 L. with relevant three-line overprint and two others, carried across South Atlantic but aircraft crashed at Fortaleza, Brazil; also with violet boxed "transportado por cortesia/pan american airways system/fortaleza buenos aires" cachet and double-oval framed First Flight datestamp in magenta; vertical crease at centre.
