x Labuan 1878 (3 May) India 1/2a. stationery envelope (opened-out), uprated with 1/2a., 1a. and 4a., from Virduputty to "Palestine Lebauon" which was misread as Labuan, routed via Bombay (15.5), Galle (17.5), Singapore (27.5) and arriving in Labuan where a fine strike of the "labuan" c.d.s. (Type D2) in red for 26 June was applied, marked "Missent to Labuan" and with the original destination both clearly written in red ink, the reverse also showing a fine strike of the double-ring "poste francaise/jerusalem" crutched cross handstamp in blue together with French P.O. c.d.s. for Port Said (5.8 and18.8), Jaffa (19.8) and Beyrout (17.9).
