x Hong Kong, Victoria, pattern 10 Cents, 1863, uniface, in Barton´s Metal, obv. blank, rev. as the currency issue; the copper core evident on a small portion of the edge and on the rim (see Pr.252 note), light surface marks on obverse, nearly extremely fine / good extremely fine, exceedingly rare, perhaps unique Estimate £ 900-1,100Not illustrated or seen by Pridmore, whose entry no. 252 is taken from Hocking (no.3355), where it is recorded as silver gilt. An issue in Barton´s Metal is only noted as a footnote, recorded from the Parsons sale, Glendining, 13th May 1954, lot 972, as lots 273, 275 and 279 above.
