x Hong Kong, Victoria, pattern 10 Cents, undated, uniface, in Barton´s Metal, obv. crowned bust as the currency issue, rev. blank; the copper core evident on the rim (see Pr.251 note), obverse scratch, light surface marks, nearly extremely fine, exceedingly rare, perhaps unique Estimate £ 900-1,100Not illustrated or seen by Pridmore, whose entry no. 251 is taken from Hocking (no.3354), where it is recorded as silver gilt. An issue in Barton´s Metal is only noted as a footnote, recorded from the Parsons sale, Glendining, 13th May 1954, lot 972, as lots 273 and 275 above.
