Egypt, Republic, Order of the Republic, First Class set of Insignia, sash Badge, 61mm, silver-gilt and enamel, with maker´s mark on reverse; Star, 93mm, silver, silver-gilt, and enamel, with maker´s mark on reverse, extremely fine, with full sash riband, in case of issue, together with Bestowal Document named to His Excellency Monsieur Couve de Murville, Ambassador of France to Egypt, and dated A.H. 1374 Egypt, Republic, Suez Canal Victory Medallion, 60mm, silver, obverse, President Sadat facing right, reverse, Egyptian Parliament Building, with date 6.10.1974 below, extremely fine, together with enamel lapel pin, in case of issue (3) Estimate £ 300-350The Bestowal Document is dated A.H. 1374, and signed by Mohamed Neguib, President of Egypt. The Order therefore was awarded between 30.8.1954, the start of the Hejira year, and 14.11.1954, the date of Neguib´s resignation. The Suez Canal Victory Medallion was issued to mark the first anniversary of Egypt´s victory over Israel 6.10.1973.
